School Supplies
Every year Paso a Paso gifts school supplies to the children at the
project to help reduce the financial burden of attending school in
Guatemala.

Because of all these expenses occurring at once, many families in communities like San Antonio are forced with making the tough decision of not sending their kids to school.
We strongly believe that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty, so we strive hard to make sure every child in a family is able to be enrolled in classes. One way we work to achieve this is by helping to alleviate some of the financial burden of a new school year by purchasing a portion of the school supplies the kids will need to enroll in public school.

The costs to attend school in Guatemala are extremely high. Uniforms (in Guatemala, even public schools require uniforms), entrance fees, and an exhaustive list of school supplies needed to enroll add up quickly for the families in the project. Many living on less than $2.50 per person per day.Because of all these expenses occurring at once, many families in communities like San Antonio are forced with making the tough decision of not sending their kids to school.
